Psychological Testing
Psychological testing can be beneficial in a variety of ways. Intellectual (IQ) and achievement testing, for example, is helpful in assessing the nature of school difficulties and in providing recommendations for a Individual Education Program (IEP). Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) testing is helpful and valuable in making an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan for adults and children who may be displaying Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) symptoms. Personality testing may be helpful in assisting you and your therapist in developing a more effective treatment plan to meet you goals. They can also help you to better understand the nature of your behavioral patterns, so you can decide what you might want to change about your life.
Psychological testing can also be helpful in addressing such questions as: Does your child have school problems and you are not sure why? Has your physician suggested that you get some "psychological testing?" Do you feel that you or a family member may be displaying symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, a substance abuse problem, or ineffective coping strategies? Psychological testing can be helpful in each of these situations, providing objective information helpful to not only accurately diagnose the nature of the problem, but to provide recommendations and strategies to address the problem.
