Consultation Services

Business Consultation

Human service professionals possess a repertoire of skills and knowledge-base that provide a professional foundation from which consultation services are developed. The skills of the professional in the field of human behavior can bring their unique training and talents to the business arena to assist a consultee in solving a work related problem.

It is widely accepted in the field of professional consultation that there exists many diverse forms of professional consultation, and that organizations hire consultants for several different reasons. There is no one model of consultation that is effective across all possible organizational settings. Because of this fact, and because he is experienced at helping people develop problem solving approaches which are specifically tailored to their needs, Dr. Webb has developed his own personal model of consultation. Dr. Webb believes that the most effective consultation process evolves from the integration of one's knowledge and abilities with ones unique personality. Therefore, he has adopted a generic model of consultation which provides a systematic, problem solving approach based on current human behavioral technologies. The consultation process entails exploring organizational needs, gathering relevant data, defining specific and measurable goals, developing and implementing a targeted intervention, executing the plan, evaluating the plan and the consultation process, and terminating of the consultation relationship. The overall goal is always to help people solve "people-problems."

Forensic/Legal Consultation

The legal consultation aspect of our practice consists of several ways of assisting attorneys in dealing with cases involving mental health and substance abuse issues. This might involve something as simple and basic as advising an attorney on diagnostic and treatment issues. The consultation could also involve helping devise effective and practical alternative sentencing plans, and court testimony (in selected cases), where our expert testimony might be helpful. Other areas might involve doing research in the fields of human behavior or simply advising an attorney and/or their client on treatment options available for specific problems. A brief phone consultation with one of our mental health professionals is usually all that is necessary to determine whether our practice may be of assistance. The professionals at Oasis enjoy applying their talents and skills in the interesting fields of both civil and criminal litigation.
